Tomas Allen is our principal dentist and a CLINICAL PERIODONTIST with 25 years of dental experience. He gained his BDS degree (with honours) from University College Cork and later attained a Master’s degree in Clinical Periodontology (with distinction) from Queen Mary University of London.
Tomas has also gained postgraduate qualifications from the Faculty of Dental Surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons in England and completed a diploma in Dental Implantology, organised by Perio-Implant Europe at the FAPI Dental Institute in Brazil and the University of Paris V.
Tomas has recently enrolled on a Mastership in Laser Dentistry programme to fully explore the benefits of this exciting new field of dentistry. He has a special interest in the new and exciting fields of Digital Dentistry due to the benefits it brings to patient care.
Dr Margaret O’Connor
Dental Sedationist
BDS (NUI), Dip DSed (U.LON), MFDS RCS (Eng), MFDS RCS (Ed)
Margaret has 18 years’ experience of working in general dentistry. She has a keen interest in treating nervous patients and has worked in the dental sedation department at King’s College London, where she gained a Postgraduate Diploma in Dental Sedation.
Margaret has also passed the prestigious membership examinations to both the Faculty of Dental Surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons in England and Faculty of Dental Surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh.
Margaret also has undertaken extensive post-graduate study in the field of facial aesthetics.
Dr Norma O’Connor
Specialist Oral Surgeon
BDS NUI, MFDS RCS Edin, M Clin Dent Oral Surg, M Oral Surg RCS Edin, FFD OS RCS Edin
Norma graduated from UCC with a BDS degree, after which she embarked on extensive Oral Surgery Speciality Training Programme. Her qualifications include a Masters degree in Oral Surgery, Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons and Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons. Norma has held the position of Oral Surgeon in hospitals in both Ireland and the UK. This included the senior position of Consultant in Oral Surgery at the Edinburgh Dental Institute since 2015. Recently Norma has returned to Ireland, and we are privileged to have her on our team at the Kingdom Clinic.
She provides a full range of oral surgery services including tooth/root removal, diagnosis and management of oral soft tissue problems, jaw joint pain, facial pains and dental implant therapy. All treatments can be carried out under sedation should you desire. Although with her calm manner and expert skills, sedation is not always required!
Should you have private health insurance, you will be glad to know that many of the treatments Norma provides will be covered by your policy.
Dr Sinéad O’Dwyer
Oral Surgeon
Sinéad O’Dwyer BDS (Hons) NUI, MFDS RCSGlas, PGrad. Dip. Con. Sed. Sinead is currently an Oral Surgery trainee at University College Cork Dental School and Hospital (UCCDSH).
Having graduated with honors from UCCDSH in 2011, Sinéad moved to the United Kingdom. There she worked for the National Health Service as a general dentist dividing her time between practices in Essex and Kent. After this she completed a Maxillofacial Senior House Office post at Leeds General Infirmary. It was in this role that she gained invaluable experience and exposure in oral surgery, intravenous sedation and the management of medically compromised patients. While in Leeds she attained Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons Glasgow.
In pursuit of an international perspective, a move to Sydney, Australia was embarked upon. For two years, she worked between private practice and Sydney Dental Hospital (SDH). In SDH she worked as a clinical educator, teaching final year dental students on exodontia clinics. She also worked for the Red Cross and International Health and Medical Services (IHMS) . With a desire to move home, Sinéad returned to Ireland in 2016 and worked as a Registrar in Accident and Emergency in Dublin Dental University Hospital (DDUH). There she coordinated a busy A+E department and was responsible for the training of newly qualified dentists. While in DDUH she completed a Postgraduate Diploma, with Distinction, in Conscious Sedation in Dentistry from Trinity College Dublin. Subsequent to this, she successfully secured a place on the Oral Surgery training programme in UCCDSH, where she is as aforementioned, presently in her 2nd year.
Dr Micheál Healy
Specialist Prosthodontist
BDS (NUI), MClinDent (Prost), MPros RCS (Ed), MFDS RCS (Ed)
Micheál graduated from UCC with his BDS degree in 2009 before moving to London where he started working in general practice. He gained his first postgraduate qualification in 2013 when awarded membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgeons of Edinburgh. Micheál held the role of Clinical Tutor at Kings College London for a couple of years before opting to pursue a specialist career in Prosthodontics. In 2016, he gained entry to the prestigious 4-year specialist training programme in Prosthodontics at Guys Hospital, KCL. He completed his specialist training in 2020 and gained his Masters of Clinical Dentistry (MClinDent) in Prosthodontics. He also gained his Membership in Prosthodontics (MProst) from the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh and is a registered specialist in Prosthodontics with the General Dental Council (U.K)
Micheál has over 11 years experience in treating patients at the highest level in London, and has recently returned to Ireland to take up his new role at Kingdom Clinic. He is currently the only Prosthodontist in Kerry. Micheál is particularly interested in the management of tooth wear and is an expert in the provision of crowns, bridges, veneers and replacement teeth. If you have problems with dentures or wish to have a smile makeover, Micheál will have a solution for you!
Dr Laura O’Sullivan
Oral Surgeon
BDS MFDS PDTLHE MOS RCSEd DClinDent(OS)
Dr Laura O’Sullivan qualified with an honours degree from Cork University Dental School in 2009, receiving a number of undergraduate awards including Title of College Scholar two years running, as well as the prestigious Leo Heslin medal awarded by the Royal College of Surgeons in 2008.
As well as spending a number of years working in general practice, she has held several busy hospital posts in oral surgery in Cardiff, Nottingham and Dublin. During this time, she travelled to Cambodia to volunteer at the M’Lop Tapang organisation, providing much-needed dental treatment to underprivileged children. She returned to Cork in 2018 to complete her specialist training, graduating with a first class honours doctorate in oral surgery.
Dr O’Sullivan has published numerous articles in international peer-reviewed journals, and has presented her research at national and international meetings. She was awarded the Members’ Prize at the British Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons conference in 2017, and first prize in the research category at the 2021 conference of the British Association of Oral Surgeons. She is actively involved in teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate dental students, and is an invited reviewer with the Journal of the Irish Dental Association and British Dental Journal.
Dr O’Sullivan provides a full range of oral surgery services at Kingdom Clinic. She is a fully participating provider with VHI, Laya, Irish Life and Garda Medical Aid. Treatment is available for anxious patients under intravenous conscious sedation.

Seren is our Dental Hygienist from sunny South Africa, where she graduated with a Dean’s Commendation from the University of KwaZulu Natal in 2016. Seren has a calming and friendly disposition which is popular with nervous patients! She is passionate about providing our patients with the highest standard of dental hygiene treatments and advice.
